AMNESTY TO GARBAGE

1

You adorn the streets of my city

In multiple colors of irritation

You tower above my loved varsity

Like the organic cell in a million

Who ignores your stench and strength

Who comprehends the overwhelming aroma of your essence

Who resists the hot embrace of your presence

Who commands aright the increase of your length

Here your face is bright organic

There your rear is gloomy inorganic

Doubts cast on your chemistry with homes

Conscious devices of fools in domes

But tell me garbage

What fuels this stature of great presence

What manures this atrocious barrage

What garnishes your quaint aesthetics

2

Dear garbage…

I bow to your courage and zeal

Your steadfast strength outstands me

Did I not witness your extra judicial sentence

Committed eternally to the small house

But like the little Orc of the wild world

You erupted in defiance of sentence

Going wild stigmatized

And your offspring ever growing robust

Now burst bins and cans

Defiling the knots tied against rust

Who opened the iron gates of restriction for you

Who granted enabling hands to you

Who doused the furnace hot depths for you

Those strong and dreadful gates of yesteryears

Securely fastened by concrete beams and slabs

Pits of your septic presence explode

To exhibit you like a precious trophy

Clad in multi colors of rot

Homes tired of your harsh harassment horridly vomit you

And like a sacrifice offered to the deities

You remain above violation by mortals

But saw I not you with the velocity of fire

In condemnation fall into the pit of wrath

Shouted I not in victory

Appreciating the triumph of cleanliness

Bosom friend of divinity

Hurray!

You are incarcerated and humbled

NOW

Who calmed you into life

Who bestowed you with freezing strife

Where emerged this bestial chill

You monster against your judges

And the liberty to traverse the city

Today, we sing painfully of your ruin

Tomorrow is a fierce battle

Organic for organic in tons

Missile for missile

A decree of rejection comes

And other presences shall rise in defiance

Of your dreaded defense
