Curriculum Vitae

Graduated B.A (Honours, Upper second), and M.A. (English), from the University of Lagos, Nigeria. I have lectured African and British literatures in the English Department of Nigeria’s Olabisi Onabanjo University (formerly: Ogun State University), Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State, Nigeria, for about ten years. Currently conducting a doctoral research on the new directions in Post-apartheid South African fiction of English expression at the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg. Most recent publications are: ‘Revisiting their Visions: African Writers and the Question of Commitment’. In Ernest N. Emenyonu. Ed. Emerging Perspectives On Chinua Achebe, Vol. 2: Chinua Achebe and the Theory of African Literature. (Trenton, NJ: Africa World Press, 2004); ‘John Donne and His Contemporaries: The Metaphysical Poets’. Gege: Ogun Journal of English Studies, 4.1(2004): 107-124; and ‘The Poetry of the English Romantics’. In Gege: Ogun Journal of English Studies, Vol, 5 (2005). Two other essays: ‘And What’s Your Level?: Theo Vincent and the Making of Modern African Literary Scholarship’, and ‘A Tradition of Justice: Ezenwa Ohaeto and the Igbo Masquerading Tradition in The Voice of the Night Masquerade’ are appearing as contributions to book projects by the University of Lagos Press within the year, 2005.
